Health: Ear Problems on the Mend with Nature-Based Home Remedies

Trish Causey - Ear Infection Home Remedy - Probiotics Tea Tree Oil Colloidal Silver Nasal SprayTuesday night, while doing my radio show on “Sex & the Voice”, I noticed reverb in my left ear — a metallic echo whenever I or my guest spoke.  I assumed it was a problem with my headphones, which was worrisome since they are a good-quality Sony pair.

Wednesday morning, I awoke with some pain in my left ear and the metallic echo was much more pronounced any time I or someone else spoke.  I was not sure if this were being caused by a bug or if it were just fluid on my ears.  I knew I needed to do something.  I am not one to let anything in my ear, nose, throat area develop.  I will do whatever I can to kick a virus or infection in its proverbial butt immediately.

I upped my daily dose of probiotics and took 3 of them.  I then went across the street to the vegetarian restaurant, and both David and Beverly told me to try tea tree oil in my ear.  So I walked across the street in the opposite direction to the health food store, and Paul told me about an ear oil remedy that uses tea tree oil and a few other ingredients to help with the possible infection.

Coming home to do the drops of oil in both of my ears, I remembered the colloidal silver in the cabinet and did a couple sprays in each nostril to get that in my bloodstream.

I stayed away from sugar and caffeine and drank even more water than I usually do.  I did my radio show on “Astral Travel” that night, even though my ear hurt with every sound vibration through the headphones.

Early Thursday morning, I woke up and heard a white noise type of low buzz in my left ear.  Sound was magnified in that ear, and I noticed the metallic echo was more pronounced, and it actually had a millisecond delay — the whole thing reminded me of when I’m mixing audio and playing with the reverb effects and wet/dry levels.

I continued with the 3 probiotics 3 times per day, the 2 sprays of colloidal silver in each nostril every 2 to 3 hours, and 3 to 4 drops of the ear oil remedy in each ear several times each day.  I also kept up my daily regimen of organic women’s multivitamin, organic B-complex, and fish oil… (I had forgotten my fish oil the past couple of days, which I usually take to keep my Omega-3’s up… Oops.)

As of today, Friday, I have no pain, no reverb or echo, and no white noise/buzz.  My ear feels fine and seems to be hearing everything normally.

I only relay this information to share what I do to heal myself since I believe in nature-based, alternative health remedies — and I can’t afford insurance, so I must take my health into my own hands.  It is also proof that I don’t need to give my money to Big Pharma.

  1. Wow, glad you got over that one quick smart. Can’t have you out of action on the relaunch of your radio career!
As a sufferer of a mild case of tinnitus for the past 5 or so years I can say you want to steer clear of any issues with your hearing, especially in your line of work.
    Pete.

  2. Thank you! I haven’t had ear issues in years, so this really was out of the blue. One friend on Facebook said it might have been congestion in my left ear’s eustachian tube. Either way, I’m glad it was only 48 hours of mild pain and lots of discomfort.
